The U. S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs has advised
that they will no longer accept payment for passports fees paid with
checks from acceptance facilities. Any person applying for a U. S.
Passport will have to make payment to the U.S. Department of State
with a check or money order made payable to the U.S. Department of
State. The District Court can no longer accept cash, debit or credit cards
for payment to the U.S. Department of State. The District Court will still
be able to accept cash, debit or credit cards payments for the
acceptance fee and postage for expedited passports. Anyone planning
on applying for a passport can contact the District Court to find out the
exact fees that will be due the U. S. Department of State. Keith County
District Court accepts passport applications during business hours, 8:00
a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
